Refund Policy
Honest summary: we offer a conditional refund window for people who sign up and quickly realize Mend isn't for them, before they've used the product. After that, your subscription is non-refundable — but you can cancel any time, one click, to stop future charges.
7-day try-it-out refund (conditional)
If, within 7 calendar days of your first payment, you decide Mend isn't for you AND you have not generated or downloaded any dispute letter, email hello@letmend.com with the subject line "Refund" and we will refund your most recent charge in full.
This is a try-it-out window for users who change their mind before using the product. Once you've generated even one dispute letter — which is the core deliverable Mend produces — your subscription is non-refundable. This protects against the obvious extraction pattern (subscribe, generate all letters, request refund) while still letting genuine "not for me" customers walk away.
Refunds are processed within 5–7 business days back to your original payment method.
After 7 days OR after generating any letter
Once either condition is met, monthly and annual subscription charges are non-refundable. You may cancel any time to prevent future charges (see below), but past charges stand.
Exception: if Mend fails to deliver the core Service for technical reasons on our end (extended outage, broken audit, etc.), we will credit or refund the affected billing period at your option. Email us if this happens.
How to cancel (one click)
You can cancel your subscription any time, with no questions, by clicking "Cancel subscription" in your profile page. Your subscription stays active through the end of the current billing period, then stops. You won't be charged again.
We will NOT require you to call us, email us, chat with anyone, or take any other action to cancel. This is consistent with California's "click to cancel" rule (Bus. & Prof. Code §17602) and similar laws in NY, IL, DC, and a growing number of other states.
Postage refunds
Mend does not refund USPS postage. The ~$5 per letter you pay for USPS Certified Mail is paid directly to USPS, not to Mend. Mend never sees or handles that money.
Refund abuse
We refund anyone who qualifies under the policy above, once. If a user repeatedly subscribes and refunds across multiple accounts to abuse the policy, we reserve the right to deny future refunds and close the abusing accounts.
Chargebacks
If you're unhappy, email us first. If your situation falls within the policy above, we'll refund you faster than your bank will. Filing a chargeback before contacting us can result in your account being closed and data deleted. Most banks will side with us if our refund policy is clear and we've made a good-faith offer in writing. The email-us route is always faster and easier for everyone.
Contact
Refund or cancellation question: hello@letmend.com. Response within 1 business day.
